Light Rigid Licence (TLILIC2014)

LR

Light Rigid Licence Course:

This training program is designed for people who wish to attain a “Light Rigid” Driver’s licence or LR Licence. Light Rigid Vehicles are typically small school buses, minibuses, or light courier vehicles. Many professional drivers start with these vehicles as couriers or delivery drivers, driving for themselves as part of another business.

A Light Rigid ‘Class LR’ covers a rigid vehicle with a GVM of more than 4.5 tonnes but not more than 8 tonnes. Any towed trailer must not weigh more than 9 tonnes GVM. Also includes vehicles with a GVM of up to 8 tonnes that carry more than 12 adults including the driver and vehicles in class ‘C’.
Note: There are no restrictions on the number of axles for this class of licence.

To enter this course, you will need to:

The assessment process consists of:

  • Kool Driving School issuing you with a Certificate of Competency and a Statement of Attainment.
  • Kool Driving School submitting your results to the RMS HVCORS
  • You go to your local RMS and pay the Licence upgrade fee.

The unit of competency is nationally recognised and can only be delivered by a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) that complies with the governing standards of quality control, and quality training and assessment.
